Short bio

Kęstutis Kvainauskas is a partner and attorney-at-law at ECOVIS ProventusLaw in Vilnius, Lithuania. He has over 25 years of legal experience advising clients on financial services regulation, licensing, tax, and corporate law. He is a member of the Lithuanian Bar Association, a registered lobbyist, and an arbitrator at the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration.

Kęstutis is widely recognised for his deep expertise in licensing and regulating financial institutions, including banks, electronic money and payment institutions (EMIs/PIs), investment firms, crowdfunding platforms, and crypto-asset service providers (VASPs). He regularly assists clients entering the EU/EEA single market through Lithuania or other EU jurisdictions, navigating complex compliance requirements in regulatory frameworks.

• M&A deals for AB SEB Bank, including the acquisition of AB Bankas Hermis and AB Vilniaus Bankas,
• Representing Cargill in acquiring AB Lifosa and Carlsberg in acquiring AB Švyturys.

He was also directly involved in creating Lithuania's first modern investment index fund and the first US stock investment fund registered in the country. His regulatory insight extends to drafting financial legislation and official lobbying initiatives.

In addition to his legal practice, Kęstutis lectures on finance and securities law at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, contributing to the education of future legal and financial professionals by sharing real-world expertise.
