Foreign income tax in the UK: The new tax regime

In the United Kingdom, as of 6 April 2025, a new tax system for the taxation of foreign income and gains (FIG) has applied to individuals who return to the country after a long period of non-residence. It replaces the remittance basis and removes the concept of domicile from UK taxation.

Planning to buy or sell real estate in England and Wales?

In England and Wales, neither the buyer or seller are legally bound to the transaction until exchange of contracts has taken place. The buyer and seller and then legally bound to buy and sell the property in question. A completion/moving date is then set.
